Iraq dispatches first aid convoy to Iran after Supreme Leader’s appeal
Iraq has sent its first convoy of public aid to Iran following a call for support from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
The convoy departed from the Holy Husseiniya (Al-Ataba al-Husseiniya), marking the initial step in humanitarian assistance efforts, Islam Times reports.
Khamenei expressed his gratitude to Iraq’s highest religious authority and the Iraqi people for their “open condemnation of aggression against Iran and support for the country.”
Earlier, Iraq’s top religious authority had strongly denounced what it described as “aggression” and a regional war targeting Iran. The authority called on Muslims and freedom-loving populations worldwide to condemn these actions and to show solidarity with the oppressed peoples of Iran and Lebanon.
