IRGC claims downing of US MQ-9 Reaper over Persian Gulf VIDEO

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on May 27 that it had shot down a US MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Persian Gulf, claiming the aircraft had violated Iranian airspace.

In an official statement, the IRGC said: “The US MQ-9 drone, after violating the country’s airspace in the Persian Gulf area at dawn today, was struck by the latest air defence missile system of the Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).”

The MQ-9 Reaper is a long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle widely used by the United States for surveillance and strike missions.
