IRGC claims strikes aimed at wearing down Israeli, US forces
The IRGC characterised the operations as part of a longer-term strategy aimed at wearing down the capabilities of Israeli and US forces in the region, while signalling continued coordination among aligned groups.
In a statement, the organisation said the latest actions were conducted jointly with allied forces and formed part of an ongoing campaign it associates with previous operations, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
It claimed that a range of missile systems was used to target multiple locations across Israel, including Tel Aviv, Be’er Sheva, the Galilee, the Negev, and areas near the Dead Sea, as well as several military installations and air bases.
The statement also alleged that a gathering of Israeli internal defence commanders in the city of Bnei Brak was among the intended targets.
Separately, the IRGC said its naval and aerospace units carried out further operations against sites linked to United States forces in the region, asserting that drones and precision-guided missiles were deployed against what it described as command and surveillance facilities at several bases.
The statement also referred to the involvement of allied groups, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and other regional factions, which it said had conducted more than 120 operations targeting areas in northern and southern Israel, as well as positions associated with US forces in Iraq and surrounding areas.
The IRGC further claimed that the evolving tactics and expanded use of missile systems, alongside what it described as a widening front of coordinated activity, indicated a qualitative shift in the operational environment.
It said these efforts were intended to intensify pressure over time and reshape the strategic balance in the region.
