IRGC Navy claims coordinated missile, drone strikes across Gulf targets

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has said it carried out a coordinated early-morning operation involving missiles and drones against a range of targets it described as linked to the United States and Israel across the Gulf region.

In a statement issued by its public relations office, the IRGC said the operation formed part of what it referred to as Wave 88 of “Operation True Promise” and was launched at dawn under the code phrase “Ya Fatemeh al-Zahra”, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.

The force claimed that a container vessel allegedly associated with Israel, named Express Halfong, was struck by ballistic missiles in the central waters of the Persian Gulf.

It also said that, in a separate phase, drone strikes targeted what it described as a gathering of US personnel on the coast of the United Arab Emirates. The statement characterised the group as operating outside a formal base and in a concealed location.

Further claims included the reported destruction of an anti-drone system linked to the US Fifth Fleet near Manama, Bahrain, as well as strikes on two early-warning radar systems at the “Jaber al-Ahmad” base.

The IRGC added that the Strait of Hormuz remains under its control and warned that any hostile movements would be met with missile and drone responses. It said the operation is ongoing.

The statement concluded by dedicating the operation to the late IRGC Navy commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri and other members of the force. The claims have not been independently verified.
