IRGC urges civilians to stay clear of US bases in Middle East

24 July 2026 15:40

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has called on civilians in Middle Eastern countries hosting U.S. forces to keep a distance of at least 500 meters from American military installations, citing safety concerns amid rising regional tensions.

“We urge all citizens of countries where American military forces are stationed to urgently move at least 500 meters away from deployment sites and concealed bases of U.S. forces in order to ensure their safety,” the IRGC said in a statement.

The IRGC also called on residents across the region to report the locations of U.S. bases and troop deployments, saying it had established a dedicated Telegram channel and a section on its official website for that purpose.

The appeal comes amid a renewed escalation between the United States and Iran that began on July 8, when U.S. forces launched multiple waves of strikes on Iranian territory, marking the first such action since the signing of a bilateral memorandum aimed at halting hostilities.

Washington said the strikes were in response to an attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. On the same day, President Donald Trump announced the termination of the ceasefire with Iran.

Tehran has since carried out retaliatory strikes against U.S. facilities across the region, including in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
