IRNA: Iran responds to US proposal aimed at resolving ongoing conflict
Iran has formally delivered its response to the latest US proposal aimed at ending hostilities to Pakistani mediators, a source familiar with the matter confirmed.
According to the proposed framework, the current phase of negotiations is strictly centered on the cessation of fighting in the region, the source told IRNA.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson had earlier stated that Tehran’s position and considerations regarding US proposals would be conveyed once internal reviews and final conclusions were completed.
Pakistan brokered a ceasefire between Tehran and Washington on April 8, which halted nearly 40 days of joint US and Israeli hostilities against the Islamic Republic. Follow-up talks held in Islamabad days later, however, failed to yield a breakthrough.
