Israel's fresh strikes claim lives of 136 Palestinians in Gaza, including aid seekers

20 July 2025 10:07

At least 136 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours as a result of actions by the Israeli army.

Medical sources stated that 136 civilians, including 38 people waiting to receive food at humanitarian aid distribution points, were killed in the Gaza Strip due to strikes and raids by Israeli occupation forces since dawn on July 19, Caliber.Az reports, citing Palestinian media.

Three Palestinian children died during this time from malnutrition.

The Gaza Strip has faced significant loss of life since the onset of the Israeli military operation in response to the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, as of July 19, 2025, the death toll has reached approximately 58,765 Palestinians, with over 140,485 injured, predominantly women and children. This figure includes both direct casualties from Israeli airstrikes and ground operations, as well as indirect deaths due to malnutrition, lack of medical care, and the collapse of healthcare infrastructure.

Since the ceasefire collapse on March 18, 2025, at least 7,750 civilians have been killed, with 27,566 injured, including 851 deaths at aid distribution points. The conflict has also resulted in 1,983 Israeli deaths, primarily from the initial October 7 attack. The ongoing blockade, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and restrictions on humanitarian aid have exacerbated the crisis, leading to widespread starvation and displacement of nearly all of Gaza's 2.3 million population.
