Israel says air force targeted aircraft linked to Iran’s supreme leader Photo
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its air force carried out an overnight strike on March 16 targeting an aircraft at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran that it described as being used by Iran’s late Supreme Leader and senior officials.
In a statement, the IDF said the aircraft had been used by Ali Khamenei, as well as other senior Iranian officials and military personnel, for what it called military procurement activities and coordination with allied countries through domestic and international flights, Caliber.Az reports.

According to the Israeli military, the strike “dismantled” the aircraft and was intended to disrupt Iran’s leadership coordination capabilities and military build-up efforts. It described the aircraft as a strategic asset and said its destruction would degrade the Iranian leadership’s operational capacity.
The IDF added that it would continue operations targeting what it described as military assets linked to Iran’s armed forces.
