Israel tells civilians to evacuate area near Tehran University ahead of possible strike
The Israel Defence Forces issued a strike warning on Friday, March 13, for an area near the University of Tehran, where annual Quds Day demonstrations were taking place.
According to the warning, cited by The Associated Press, a strike could occur along Enghelab Street near the university. The area was reportedly crowded with demonstrators at the time the notice was issued.
Tehran University is also the location of the city’s Friday prayers, where additional demonstrators were expected to gather later at noon.
The warning, published in Farsi, stated that the Israeli military “will conduct operations in this area in the coming hours.”
“We kindly urge you to immediately evacuate the designated area indicated on the map,” the message said. “Your presence in these areas puts your life at risk.”
