Israeli Air Force strikes Hamas command centre in Gaza school
The Israeli Air Force has struck the command centre of the radical Hamas movement, which was located in a school complex in the city of Gaza.
The strike was carried out with precision-guided munitions against "terrorists who planned and executed" attacks on Israel and Israeli soldiers while inside this Hamas command centre, hidden within the school complex, the press service noted, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).
"Hamas systematically violates international law" and operates using "civilian infrastructure" and the population of the Gaza Strip "for terrorist activities," the Israeli military added.
Before the strike, "steps were taken to reduce the risk of harm to civilians," including the "use of precision-guided munitions" and "aerial surveillance," the IDF stated.
