Israeli airline flies hundreds home as Iran conflict escalates
Israeli airline Israir has carried out its third special flight overnight to evacuate passengers from Dubai following the outbreak of hostilities with Iran.
The flight, carrying 170 passengers, landed at Aqaba Airport in Jordan, where evacuees were provided with food and ground transportation to the land border crossing into Israel, Mignews reports.
The airline also assisted passengers with visa arrangements and coordinated an extension of the border crossing’s operating hours. Upon entering Israel, passengers were met by buses from the Israel Airports Authority and the Ministry of Transport, which transported them to multiple central locations across the country.
Israir said another evacuation flight is scheduled for March 9, carrying approximately 150 passengers. Over the weekend, the airline completed two additional flights, bringing 310 passengers from Sharjah to Aqaba, who then continued their journey to Israel via Jordan.
