Israeli delegation in Egypt for Gaza talks
Israeli representatives have arrived in Egypt to continue negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages held there.
Sources within the Egyptian airport management revealed that the Israeli delegation comprises six individuals, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
Their identities have not been disclosed. The sources provided this information anonymously, as they were not authorized to inform the media about the Israeli delegation's arrival.
The talks come against a backdrop of heightened tension following an Israeli strike on July 13. The strike targeted an area in the Gaza Strip where Hamas military leader Mohammed al-Deif was believed to be hiding. The Israeli army claimed the attack resulted in the elimination of Rafia Salama, the head of the Hamas military wing in Khan Younis and a close associate of al-Deif. However, there has been no confirmation regarding al-Deif's elimination or any information about his current status.
As the situation in Gaza remains tense, the outcomes of these negotiations in Egypt are being closely watched, with hopes for progress towards a ceasefire and resolution of the hostage situation.
