Israeli forces strike Hezbollah targets in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said it recently conducted strikes against several sites in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley used by the Hezbollah militant group.
According to the IDF, the targeted locations included military training compounds, described as “Radwan Force” facilities, where weapons were stored and militants were trained, Caliber.Az reports.
The Israeli military stated that these sites were used to train individuals in firearms combat and other weapons exercises, and that their operations posed a threat to Israel.
The IDF further noted that the compounds’ activities violate existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon.
Hezbollah, which has a significant presence in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley, has previously been involved in regional conflicts and is designated a terrorist organisation by Israel, the United States, and the European Union.
Lebanon’s government has not yet issued an official response regarding the latest strikes.
The situation in the area remains tense, with concerns about potential escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
