Kazakhstan’s flag voted most beautiful in world in Reddit competition
The flag of Kazakhstan has been voted the most beautiful in the world in an online competition hosted on the popular platform Reddit.
Titled Flags of the World, the contest saw the Kazakh flag compete against dozens of national flags. In the semi-finals, it triumphed over the flag of Seychelles, and in the final, it defeated Kiribati’s national flag. The flag of Bhutan secured third place in the competition, Caliber.Az reports per the post.
“Kazakhstan is our champion! You all have voted and have decided it's the best flag in the world! Thank you to everyone who participated. It's been a lot of work but it's been fun!” read the official Reddit post announcing the result.
The Kazakh flag was officially adopted on 4 June 1992. It features a golden sun with a soaring golden eagle and a traditional national ornament on a sky-blue background. The blue represents peace and a clear sky, while the sun and eagle symbolize life, freedom, and strength. The ornamental pattern reflects the country’s rich cultural heritage. The flag was designed by Kazakh artist Shaken Niyazbekov.
