South Korean, US top diplomats discuss developments in Middle East
South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun has held a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which they discussed the current situation in the Middle East.
The South Korean minister announced the call on social platform X, writing that he and Rubio emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region, Caliber.Az reports.
Particular attention was given to safe and free navigation through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, as well as coordination of actions to ensure security.
Minister Cho thanked the United States for assisting in the safe return of South Korean citizens and reaffirmed his country’s readiness to continue close cooperation. He also noted that he looks forward to a personal meeting with Secretary Rubio to further discuss regional issues.
