Israeli military uncovers massive weapons cache in southern Lebanon PHOTO
Israeli troops seized more than 150 weapons during military operations carried out over the past month in the southern Lebanese town of Haddatha, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
According to the military, Haddatha, located approximately 10 kilometres north of Israel's border, served as an area of operational activity for Hezbollah.
In a statement, the IDF said troops from the 401st Armored Brigade, operating under the command of the 91st Division, established operational control over the area and carried out a series of missions targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.
"Over the past month, troops of the 401st Armored Brigade established operational control over the area of the village of Haddatha," the military said.
According to the IDF, the forces destroyed approximately 90 "terror infrastructures," killed 20 Hezbollah operatives, and recovered more than 150 weapons during the operation.
The cache included rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), anti-tank missiles, and firearms, the military said.
The military said it would continue taking decisive action to neutralize any threat to its forces and would not allow the Hezbollah militant group to endanger the citizens of the State of Israel.
