Israeli PM opposes Iran’s nuclear deal
Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid has said that Israel is against a deal on the Iranian nuclear program and is entitled to take diplomatic and operational actions against Iran in connection with its development of nuclear weapons.
“US President Joe Biden, who was on a visit to Israel from July 13 through July 15, was informed about Israel’s position,” TASS reports referring to Lapid’s statement made at a weekly governmental meeting on July 17.
“During the visit, I informed President Biden and his team that Israel opposes the nuclear deal and is entitled to take diplomatic and operational actions against the Iranian nuclear program,” the government’s press service quotes Lapid as saying.
He called President Biden's visit to Israel historic and stressed that the arrival of the US president brought "achievements in diplomacy, security and economy that will strengthen Israel for further years".
"The Israeli government will receive a full report on the president's visit today," the prime minister added.
President Biden's first Middle East tour after taking office took place from July 13 through July 16, 2022. He visited Israel and the West Bank of the Jordan River, as well as Saudi Arabia, where he met the leaders of several Arab countries.
