Israeli-US strikes hit major cancer drug facility in Iran, official says
31 March 2026 13:51
Iran’s former foreign minister and founder of the Payab Research Institute, Javad Zarif, has said that Israeli and US strikes targeted one of the country’s largest pharmaceutical companies, which produces anti-cancer, anaesthetic, and other specialised medicines.
Zarif said that the attackers, whom he described as “desperate” after failing to achieve their goals, specifically targeted a manufacturer of materials used in cancer treatment, Caliber.Az reports via Al Jazeera.
Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, reported Zarif’s comments and added that the Tawfiq Darou engineering research company was struck after “a month of war crimes,” highlighting the company’s role in producing critical medical supplies.
