Istanbul Airport tops Europe’s busiest hubs with over 1,300 daily flights

Istanbul Airport has been recognized as the busiest airport in Europe, handling an average of 1,318 daily flights from November 18 to 24.

The latest European Aviation Overview by the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) says that during this period, Istanbul Airport outpaced other major European airports, with London Heathrow following in second place with 1,243 daily flights, Caliber.Az reports citing Turkish media.

Amsterdam Schiphol and Frankfurt Airport ranked third and fourth, respectively, with 1,240 and 1,151 flights.

Additionally, Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, also located in Istanbul, secured the 10th spot with 648 daily flights, further cementing Istanbul's position as a key aviation hub in Europe.
