Istanbul has launched the maritime edition of Türkiye's flagship aerospace and technology festival, TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland, at the Naval Command shipyard. The event, running from August 30–31, is open to the public and centers on advancing naval and underwater technologies.
The festival brings together technology enthusiasts, innovators, and the defence industry, featuring competitions in unmanned underwater systems and underwater rocket technologies. Organisers say the event aims to promote breakthroughs in maritime innovation while strengthening cooperation between civilian technology developers and the defence sector, Caliber.Az reports, citing Anadolu.
A major draw for visitors is the exhibition of Turkish Navy warships, including the amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu, the frigate TCG İstanbul, and several other vessels such as TCG Burgazada, TCG Oruçreis, TCG Nusret, TCG Sakarya, and TCG Hızırreis.
The Blue Homeland edition of TEKNOFEST underscores Türkiye's growing focus on naval modernisation and maritime security, while also seeking to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists.
