Istanbul investigates spreading of disinformation during presidential election

The Istanbul Prosecutor's Office has issued a warrant for the detention of five suspects as part of an investigation into the spreading of misinformation during the presidential election.

The prosecutor's office checked accounts that were openly spreading provocative and false information aimed at "disturbing public order and tranquillity" about the second round of the presidential election, TRT Haber TV channel reports.

Istanbul's cybercrime unit continues to work to identify other accounts that are posting similar messages, the media specifies.
