Istanbul police detain 11 in ISIS-linked operation

Istanbul authorities have arrested 11 individuals suspected of involvement with the terrorist organisation ISIS and of spreading propaganda through social media channels.

The operation, coordinated by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office, was carried out by teams from the Istanbul Police Department’s Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence Units, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media. 

The investigation aimed to prevent and expose ISIS-related activities in the city.

Following the identification of the suspects’ identities and addresses, police conducted a series of simultaneous raids, resulting in the detention of all 11 suspects.

They were taken into custody for further processing.
