A high-ranking delegation from the Italian military has visited BAYKAR facilities in Türkiye to observe test flights of the Bayraktar TB3, AKINCI, and KIZILELMA drones.

The BAYKAR statement said the delegation included Haluk Görgün, head of Türkiye’s defence industry; Matteo Perego di Cremnago, Deputy Minister of Defence of Italy; Lieutenant General Antonio Conserva, Commander of the Italian Air Force; Lieutenant General Carmine Masiello, Commander of the Italian Army; Vice Admiral Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto, Deputy Commander of the Italian Navy; and Leonardo SpA representatives Simone Ungaro and Carlo Gualdaroni. The visitors toured Bayraktar’s national technology centre in Özdemir and witnessed the test flights of the three drones.

Senior Turkish officials attending the event included General Metin Tokel, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces; General Bahtiyar Ersay, Commander of the 1st Army; Gökan Uçar, Vice President of Türkiye’s defence industry; Murat İkinci, CEO of Roketsan; and Oguz Ozbal, Head of UAV Department.

By combining Baykar’s drones with Leonardo’s electronics, LBA Systems aims to offer advanced UAV solutions for the European market.
