Journalist: Contract servicemen flee Armenian army due to low salaries

28 July 2023 11:05

Former Aravot journalist Voskan Sargsyan has criticised the Armenian authorities for the reform of judges' salaries.

He accused them of increasing the already high salaries of Armenian judges by 60 per cent, Caliber.Az reports per Sargsyan’s Facebook page.

"You raise the salaries of judges, but contract servicemen guarding the border quit because of low salaries. Many contract servicemen serving in the border guard military units of the Tavush district [Tovuzgala] have left the service because of low salaries. I don't want to reveal the secret of how many soldiers are guarding each of the Tavush border posts now," Voskan Sargsyan writes.
