Kakha Kaladze wins Tbilisi mayoral election
Georgia’s Central Election Commission has declared incumbent Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze the winner of the October 4 elections.
His third term will officially begin on October 29, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
According to the final results, Kaladze received 215,363 votes, securing victory in the first round with 71.677% of the vote.
Out of 1,043,482 eligible voters in Tbilisi, 324,798 participated in the election on October 4.
Regarding the elections for Tbilisi’s representative body, the Sakrebulo, the ruling party secured a majority through proportional and majoritarian contests, winning 45 out of 50 seats.
The remaining five seats went to “Strong Georgia – Lelo” with two mandates, “Girchi” with two mandates, and “Conservatives for Georgia” with one mandate.
