Kazakh citizens evacuated from Iran via Azerbaijan's Astara border PHOTO
In a humanitarian gesture, Azerbaijan is assisting multiple foreign governments in evacuating their citizens from Iran through the Astara border crossing amid rising security concerns following military strikes.
In this vein, six citizens of Kazakhstan crossed into Azerbaijan from Iran to return to their country, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Special arrangements were made at the Astara checkpoint to provide comfort during transit. Evacuees were offered tea and breakfast, while an ambulance and a team of healthcare professionals were stationed at the site to respond to any medical needs.
Azerbaijani officials say the evacuation process remains ongoing as more foreign nationals are expected to be repatriated through the corridor.
