Kazakh peacekeepers prepare for next UN mission on Golan Heights
Kazakh peacekeepers are preparing for a new United Nations mission on the Golan Heights.
During a working visit to Almaty, Defence Minister Dauren Kosanov met with servicemen of the 3rd National Peacekeeping Contingent, who are preparing to depart for the UN mission on the Golan Heights, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.
“Participation in a peacekeeping operation is a great honour and a significant responsibility. The Kazakh contingent enjoys the trust and respect of the country’s leadership and the UN mission command. I am confident you will represent our republic with distinction,” Kosanov said.
The minister also highlighted the contribution of Kazakh peacekeepers to maintaining stability and security in their area of responsibility.
Kazakhstan deployed its first standalone peacekeeping contingent to the Golan Heights in 2024.
