Kazakh president, CSTO secretary-general discuss organisation's activities
Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met the Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), Taalatbek Masadykov, during which the officials discussed a broad range of issues related to the organisation’s key areas of activity.
The meeting covered the ongoing work of its permanent operational bodies, Caliber.Az reports, citing the presidential press service Akorda.
Tokayev put forward several proposals for the further development of the organisation and expressed Kazakhstan’s readiness to strengthen cooperation within the CSTO framework.
Masadykov briefed the Kazakh president on his plans for work in the role of CSTO Secretary-General.
He was appointed CSTO Secretary-General on January 1, 2026, for a three-year term.
