Kazakh president highlights role of peacekeeping forces in Golan Heights
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has emphasised the significance of the Kazakh peacekeeping contingent's operations on the Golan Heights under the auspices of the UN.
The president received a report from Defence Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov on November 25 regarding the ministry's activity for 2024, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Kazakh media.
The president was briefed on the results of the military training exercises, the autumn conscription campaign, measures to strengthen discipline and ensure the security of military service, as well as efforts to improve the social status and financial compensation of servicemen.
Special attention was given to the gradual enhancement of the army's combat potential and the introduction of new approaches to troop training.
Zhaksylykov reported on the progress of fulfilling the state defence order, the new types of military equipment and weapons, including unmanned aerial systems and electronic warfare complexes, obtained by Kazakhstan.
He also discussed the modernisation of combat vehicles, communication systems, optimisation efforts, and the development of military infrastructure.
Following the meeting, the president assigned specific tasks to the minister, including enhancing cooperation with domestic defence enterprises, developing territorial defence forces, strengthening special operations units, and improving social and legal support for the military.
