Kazakhstan announces temporary road border closures with China

Kazakhstan’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has announced a temporary closure of road border crossing points with China due to a public holiday in China. 

In an official statement, the SRC said that road crossings along the Kazakh-Chinese border will be closed to people, vehicles and cargo from February 16 to 18, 2026. Railway border crossing points, however, will continue to operate normally during this period, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media. 

The committee urged transport companies and travellers planning to cross the border to take the temporary restrictions into account and to plan their routes in advance.
