Kazakhstan plans to launch a new tungsten products manufacturing facility
12 March 2026 13:35
Yersaiyn Nagaspayev, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Construction, held talks with Dominic Heaton, CEO of Cove Kaz Capital Group LLC, to discuss prospects for cooperation in the mining sector.
The November 2025 agreement between NGK “Tau-Ken Samruk” and Cove Capital for the development of the North Katpar and Upper Kayrakty deposits provides for a $1.1 billion investment to build two beneficiation plants and one metallurgical factory.
As part of the North Katpar project, the agreement includes a strategic provision prohibiting the export of raw materials and semi-finished products. This will allow Kazakhstan to ensure the deep processing of raw materials domestically and achieve high added value.
