13 May 2026 15:54

Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with member states of the Organisation of Turkic States reached $12.9 billion, reflecting continued growth in regional economic ties.

Speaking at an OTS business forum, Aitmukhammed Aldazharov, CEO of QazTrade, said exports played a key role in this increase.

“This is 12.2% higher than the 2024 level. Exports to OTS countries increased by 19.9% and reached $9.49 billion. The trade balance improved from $4 billion to $6 in favour of Kazakhstan,” he stated.

Aldazharov noted significant growth in key export categories, with wheat exports rising by 53% and sunflower oil by 93%. Shipments of steel bars, confectionery, processed food products, and mineral water also expanded.

Türkiye remains Kazakhstan’s largest trading partner within the OTS, accounting for 41% of total trade turnover, followed by Uzbekistan at 37%, Kyrgyzstan at 17.3%, and Azerbaijan at 3.6%.
