Kazakhstan, China to move to unlimited road transport permits exchange

Kazakhstan and China have agreed to transition to an unlimited exchange of road transport permits without quota restrictions by the end of the year, according to a meeting of the China–Kazakhstan Joint Committee on International Road Transport held in Beijing.
According to Kazakh media cited by Caliber.Az, the sides discussed expanding transport routes, developing infrastructure, and simplifying the permit issuance system for carriers.
Following the negotiations, both countries agreed to eliminate quota-based restrictions on permit exchanges for road freight transport.
The parties also discussed increasing the capacity of the “Nur Zholy” border crossing and the possibility of integrating toll road payments through the WeChat Pay system.
