Kazakhstan conducts anti-terrorism drills in multiple regions

Kazakhstan is conducting anti-terrorism exercises on Thursday, August 6, in Almaty and in the Akmola and Turkestan regions, authorities said.

The drills are being held under the coordination of the country’s Anti-Terrorism Centre, according to Kazakh media.

Security forces are rehearsing rapid response measures to a range of potential threat scenarios at locations with large public gatherings.

Authorities warned that temporary restrictions may be introduced in certain areas during the exercises, including partial road closures.

Residents have been advised to follow safety precautions, comply with instructions from state officials, rely on official sources of information, and avoid disseminating unverified reports.
