Kazakhstan detains 11 religious radicals for propagating extremist ideology VIDEO

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the detention of 11 individuals involved in distributing extremist content in the Zhambyl region.

The arrests were carried out by the police's counter-extremism division in collaboration with the National Security Committee, under the oversight of the prosecutor's office, Caliber.Az reports.

The detained individuals were part of a well-organized group that had been spreading radical religious ideology through social media platforms. According to the ministry’s report, they shared audio and video materials, including lectures from foreign extremist preachers. These materials promoted the notion of religious superiority and denigrated followers of other faiths, effectively inciting religious hatred and offending religious sensibilities.

During searches of their residences, authorities seized a range of religious texts and other materials deemed to contain elements of religious discord. Expert examinations confirmed that the materials seized from the group promoted division and intolerance based on religious beliefs.
