Kazakhstan extends beef export restrictions for six months
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture has extended quantitative restrictions on beef exports for another six months, the ministry announced.
The order, signed by Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov, sets the total export quota at 20,000 tonnes and applies to both exports to third countries and shipments within the Eurasian Economic Union, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The quota is determined based on the capacity of fattening facilities:
-
5,000 heads — 1,000 tonnes
-
10,000 heads — 2,000 tonnes
-
15,000 heads — 3,000 tonnes
-
20,000 heads — 4,000 tonnes
-
50,000 heads — 10,000 tonnes
For producers with multiple facilities, the quota is calculated based on the combined capacity. The quotas are valid for 10 days from issuance and are monitored at veterinary checkpoints when crossing the border. The allocation cannot be redistributed.
