Kazakhstan hosts special CSTO rescue exercise
Kazakhstan has commenced a specialized CSTO rescue drill aimed at addressing the aftermath of a severe earthquake.
The exercise, known as "Rock-2024," is taking place in the Tamgaly Tas area of the Alma-Ata region.
The Kazakhstan Ministry of Emergency Situations announced the start of this critical operation, which focuses on managing emergency scenarios stemming from a major earthquake in Central Asia, Caliber.Az reports.
Earlier, from September 2 to 3, CSTO rescue teams conducted preliminary drills to hone their response skills for both natural and man-made disasters at designated training sites.
The exercise setup includes a tent camp for participants, a field hospital, a stationary observation platform, and designated areas for demonstration activities, according to the ministry.
