Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan yet to agree on fuel supply volumes—official

Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have not yet discussed the specific volumes of potential supplies of Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL), Kazakh Vice Minister of Energy Kaiyrkhan Tutkyshbayev said.

Tutkyshbayev noted that the sides are currently discussing only the possibility of such supplies in principle, with no concrete figures under consideration at this stage, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.

Earlier, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy confirmed that it had received an official request from the Kyrgyz authorities regarding fuel supplies.

The ministry said it will assess Kazakhstan's export capabilities and evaluate the potential impact of any shipments on the country's domestic fuel market before making a final decision.

Officials stressed that any decision on exports will be taken in accordance with Kazakhstan's national interests.
