Kazakhstan nominates presidential administration head as PM

Kazakhstan's ruling Amanat party has nominated Olzhas Bektenov, the head of the presidential administration, as prime minister.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on February 5 accepted the previous government's resignation, naming Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar as acting prime minister, Reuters reports citing the presidential office.

President Tokayev announced the dissolution of the Kazakh government headed by Alikhan Smailov on February 5.
