Kazakhstan offers EU access to resources in exchange for technology, investment

Kazakhstan is ready to offer the European Union significant resources and industrial potential, provided that Europe supports the country with technology, expertise, and investment.

The statement was made by Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in an op-ed for Euronews published ahead of his official visit to Brussels.

According to Tokayev, such a framework of cooperation would allow the economies of Kazakhstan and the EU to develop in a more sustainable and mutually beneficial way.

He noted that key areas of future growth include critical raw materials, renewable technologies, energy efficiency, and new industrial systems.

Earlier, the presidential press service said Tokayev will visit Brussels on June 22–23 at the invitation of European Council President António Costa. During the visit, he is also scheduled to hold talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, focusing on prospects for expanded Kazakhstan–EU partnership and cooperation.
