Kazakhstan opens fuel oil export route to Kyrgyzstan

Kazakhstan has opened an export route to supply between 15,000 and 20,000 tonnes of fuel oil per month to Kyrgyzstan, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy said.

The ministry said the fuel oil could be used as feedstock for further processing at Kyrgyz refineries, including the production of light petroleum products such as AI-92 petrol and K4 and K5 diesel, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media.

It could also be used by Kyrgyz thermal power plants during the 2026–2027 heating season, the ministry added.

Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry said it had received a request from its Kyrgyz counterpart regarding fuel supplies in early July. The request is currently under consideration, with a decision to be made taking Kazakhstan’s national interests into account.
