Kazakhstan records increase in number of incoming Russians
Kazakhstan has recorded an increase in the number of Russian citizens entering the country.
“The existing 30 automobile checkpoints are operating normally. At four, congestion is observed due to the increased flow of passengers and vehicles. The situation is under special control,” Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee said in a statement.
The statement said that at present, security has been ensured at the border crossings of the two countries, and interaction with the Russian border service has also been organized.
According to the committee, in its activities, the Kazakh border service is guided by international agreements and the norms of the country’s internal legislation.
Chairman of the Upper House of Kazakhstan’s Parliament Maulen Ashimbaev said that the country's authorities do not plan to impose restrictions on the entry of Russian citizens into the country.
