Kazakhstan, Russia to boost cooperation against terrorism financing

Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency and Russia’s Federal Financial Monitoring Service have signed an agreement to expand cooperation in combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
According to TASS, the Kazakh agency confirmed the signing of the document.
The agreement was concluded during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan.
It provides for the development of information-sharing mechanisms between the financial intelligence units of the two countries. According to the agency, this will improve the effectiveness of detecting and preventing financial crimes, as well as strengthen joint efforts in this area.
