Kazakhstan’s firm targets annual oil output of up to 40 million tonnes

21 July 2026 18:22

Tengizchevroil (TCO) plans to increase annual oil production to up to 40 million tonnes by the end of 2026 as the expansion of Kazakhstan's Tengiz oil field reaches its full design capacity.

The company said daily production has reached 120,000 tonnes, with 16.6 million tonnes of oil produced during the first half of the year, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media.

Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said that once the new facilities reach their planned operating capacity, ensuring the stable and reliable operation of the production complex would be a priority.

He added that the Energy Ministry expects Tengizchevroil to present a clear action plan to achieve its targeted production volumes by the end of the year.

The Tengiz field previously experienced temporary production disruptions caused by power supply issues. Authorities said the incidents resulted in no casualties or environmental damage.
