06 November 2025 09:31

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Washington, D.C. for a high-level visit to the United States.

Upon his arrival, Tokayev was greeted at the airport by US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, who had recently visited Kazakhstan, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media.

On November 7, Tokayev is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump and participate in the Central Asia-US summit.

Earlier, Tokayev expressed his gratitude to President Trump for extending the invitation to participate in the C5+1 summit in Washington. The Kazakh leader is confident that the summit will be productive, particularly in identifying strategic priorities for long-term partnership between the US and Central Asia.

A major focus of Tokayev's visit is boosting trade, economic, and investment ties between Kazakhstan and the US.

Tokayev’s trip follows a previous visit to the US in September, where he met with President Trump and attended the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
