Kazakhstan's president welcomes Iran–US two-week ceasefire
Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reacted positively to the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States, Aibek Smadiyarov, the president’s press secretary, said.
According to him, Tokayev welcomed the achievement of a full ceasefire and truce in the Middle East, mediated by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Nur.kz.
“This agreement was made possible thanks to the goodwill and wisdom of US President Donald Trump, the senior leadership of Iran, and all countries involved in the military conflict,” Smadiyarov said.
He noted that President Tokayev had expressed hope that the truce would be long-term, “aimed at fostering global trade and economic prosperity for all nations.”
Earlier reports confirmed that the United States and Iran had agreed to a two-week ceasefire.
