Kazakhstan’s Tokayev congratulates Putin on State Duma elections

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on the successful completion of elections to the State Duma, the press service of Kazakhstan’s presidential administration, Akorda, said.

“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, on the successful completion of the elections to the State Duma of the ninth convocation,” the statement said on September 21.

Tokayev described the vote as an important event in Russia’s social and political life, adding that the results demonstrated broad support for Putin’s strategic course aimed at protecting Russia’s long-term national interests.

“There is no doubt that the elected State Duma deputies will take effective measures and decisions aimed at improving citizens’ well-being and strengthening Russia’s potential as a global power,” the congratulatory message said.

Tokayev also highlighted interparliamentary cooperation as an important component of the allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia.

The Kazakh president expressed confidence that deputies of the Kurultai and Russian parliamentarians would continue their active joint work to further develop multifaceted cooperation and the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Tokayev also wished Putin further success in his state activities for the prosperity of the Russian Federation, Akorda added.
