Kazakhstan skips Victory Day parade, focuses on patriotic events
08 April 2026 20:26
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defence has confirmed that no military parade will be held this year in observance of Victory Day.
In place of a parade, the country will host a series of patriotic and commemorative activities. These include lessons in courage, ceremonies honoring exemplary service members and veterans, as well as environmental initiatives designed to engage the public, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
“A parade is not planned for this year,” the ministry’s press service stated. Last year, a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of Victory Day took place on May 7 at Independence Square, near the “Қазақ елі” monument in Astana, with an estimated cost of 2.5 billion tenge ($5.5 million).
