Kazakhstan, South Korea discuss removing trade barriers

08 June 2026 15:30

Officials from Kazakhstan and South Korea discussed ways to expand trade and economic cooperation and remove barriers to bilateral trade during a meeting of the Kazakhstan–Korea Joint Commission in Astana.

The two sides reviewed opportunities to increase trade turnover, diversify supplies, and broaden the range of export and import goods exchanged between the countries, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.

Kazakh Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Zhanel Kushukova emphasised the importance of continuing efforts to boost bilateral trade and expand the variety of products supplied by both sides.

Particular attention was given to cooperation in the field of critical minerals, as well as the participation of Kazakh companies in the Korea Import Fair 2026, which is scheduled to take place in Seoul.
