Kazakhstan starts filming of Jackie Chan's Armour of God: Ultimatum PHOTO
An official launch ceremony for the international feature film Armour of God: Ultimatum was held in Almaty, marking the start of production on the new project starring world-renowned actor Jackie Chan, the city's administration has said.
The event was attended by Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva, Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy, Almaty Region Governor Marat Sultangaziyev, as well as representatives of the Kazakh and international film industries, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
Balayeva thanked Jackie Chan for his contribution to strengthening cultural ties between Kazakhstan and China.
During the event, the actor also met with young artists and aspiring filmmakers, wishing them success in their creative careers.
The symbolic start of filming was marked by a commemorative photograph with a traditional film slate.
The project is being implemented with the support of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Culture and Information, while production is being handled by Sәlem Entertainment. Filming will take place from July to October 2026 in Almaty, the Almaty Region and the Mangystau Region under the direction of Kazakh filmmaker Robert Kun.
Authorities say the film will become an important international project that will help promote Kazakhstan's tourism and investment potential, while strengthening the country's position as a destination for major international film productions.
